I could write this article about so many different things, from why you shouldn\u2019t put \u201cpro seniors\u201d on pedestals to why you should have a solid network of friends to why you shouldn\u2019t eat the fries at Sodexo. But the most useful thing I can think to write about is the fact that you should be able to look back on your time at IMSA and laugh. Laugh really hard at dumb things you\u2019ve done with your friends, or in your classes, or anything else.<\/p>\n

Laughing gives you the chance to realize you don\u2019t need to always take yourself seriously. Laughing gives you the chance to stop moping during that day\u2019s load of homework. Laughing gives you the chance to reflect and realize that even if you\u2019ve done dumb things or made mistakes, you\u2019re still doing well.<\/p>\n

Anyways, to keep this short, I\u2019d like to share some of my favorites, things either I\u2019ve said or my friends have said to me. Thanks for reading.<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about BONDING: \u201cIt\u2019s 5 AM, we have just enough time to watch Despicable Me before going to breakfast.\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about ACCOUNTABILITY: \u201cMy RC never told me about in-room, so I\u2019m going to keep doing it until I get caught.\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about BROTHERLINESS: \u201cI am going to destroy you.\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about LEADERSHIP: \u201cSo, uh, what do you guys want to talk about at this meeting?\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about FORESIGHT: \u201cThis paper is not going to write itself.\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX: \u201cI bet I can open this wing door without a FOB.\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about FOLLOWING THE RULES: \u201cIf I see you messing with these doors again, I\u2019ll send you to Keith.\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about PLANNING AHEAD: \u201cI\u2019ll just do my Physics homework during BC.\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about GENEROSITY: \u201cNo one\u2019s awake to let you back into C wing. We can share a bed if you want.\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about GOALS: \u201cI\u2019m gonna go in.\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about PUNCTUALITY: \u201cI have 11 points in Dance. I went for the high score.\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about EXPRESSING MYSELF: \u201cSynthesis! Quantitative, textual, and visual data!\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about FAITH: \u201cOh, dear God, please let me sleep.\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about ENVY: \u201cWhy are those birds so happy to be awake at 4 in the morning?!\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about HUMILITY: \u201cHow the heck do we do this lab?\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about COMMITMENT: \u201cTonight, we\u2019re going to play League until we win a game.\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about SELF-REFLECTION: \u201cI probably should have studied for that test\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about DECISIVENESS: \u201cGG MVC. I\u2019m going to bed.\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about HARD WORK: \u201cIf I get an A on this paper, I can tank the B on the rest of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about PROJECTILE PHYSICS: \u201cDo you think I can hit that square of cardboard over there with my fork?\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about MISNOMERS: \u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019ve learned a single thing about Moving or Learning this semester.\u201d<\/p>\n

IMSA taught me about PEER PRESSURE: \u201cJoe took his shirt off. I am also going to take my shirt off.\u201d<\/p>\n
