If you haven’t managed to notice that yet, congratulations — you have the superpower of ignorance.

For all the normal people out there, there’s no overlooking Clash. It’s everywhere, from theme drop to the legions of people practicing drill everywhere you go. Clash can definitely be a fun time, but, as your teachers will bemoan over the coming weeks, it can also be a time when a student’s other responsibilities go down the drain. Don’t forget to take some time to make sure your other responsibilities are taken care of. Hopefully, this article can help.

First things first. Remember to schedule your time well. Don’t procrastinate on homework. I know, it’s a tall order, but you will be so relieved that you did homework during your free mods when you can go to bed at one instead of three.

Work ahead of time. This goes hand in hand with not procrastinating — except as IMSA students, we want to take it above and beyond, right? As you prepare for Clash, recognize that you’re going to get busy if you’re involved. Do homework ahead of time, when you’re not busy. See if you can complete that essay a day or two before it’s due, or more.

Don’t be afraid to take a step back. Your health is the most important thing. If you’re too busy and you’re overwhelmed, see what you can take a step back from. While I’m sure your hall would appreciate you attending the game show, you don’t have to if you need to get homework done or just need an hour for yourself.

Communicate with your teachers. You’ve heard this a million times, but it’s true — your teachers are there for you. You and the progress of your education are literally their job. Talk to teachers if you’re having trouble. They may be able to help you with material you’re confused on, how to handle their homework better, or even just general life advice that could really help you out.

The bottom line is, have fun with Clash, but don’t sacrifice your grades and especially your health to do so. If you do sacrifice them, Clash will stop being fun and nobody wants that.

It’s Clash of the Halls season, everyone!
