Though you might have to settle for playing a grandma’s game, such as solitaire, it is no ordinary game! The many different types of solitaire will make sure that you will never be bored.

My favorite app on my phone is Vegas Solitaire: Classic Cards because it has an option to bet in-game money, which makes the game much more fun. Though gambling is not recommended, this is not real money (unless you decide to pay), so it can add a fun twist to a relatively boring game! I also really enjoy the ads, but if you don’t like them, you can turn on airplane mode, and gameplay won’t be affected. On my computer, my favorite website is solitaired because it has all types of solitaire games. On solitaired, there are streaks, so you just have to play one game per day. Keeping streaks is very desirable for teens, so this will be very good for the soul! I especially enjoy Spider Solitaire, but the traditional Klondike is also great!

If Klondike (Google’s version of solitaire) bores you, you could try Spider Solitaire, which has different options such as one suit, two suits, and four suits. There’s so much versatility that there’s bound to be a type that’s perfect for you! If you’re looking for more of a mental challenge, Pyramid Solitaire requires you to strategically pair cards to add up to thirteen. Otherwise, you can try FreeCell, which is better for beginners because you get four free cells in case you make a mistake!

Every solitaire game balances the satisfaction of winning plus a relaxing, though repetitive, rhythm of dealing cards. It’s extremely easy to access and to learn! For moments of downtime, solitaire is always there. It can even take less than two minutes to finish if you’re a true speedrunner! Winning a game is incredibly satisfying, making it a perfect way to start or end the day with a boost of dopamine. It’s perfect for those who are less social because it requires no collaboration. Virtues such as patience and perseverance are built through playing many games. It’s very productive!

Boredom hits all of us, and sometimes, drastic times require drastic measures.
