B.2.3 Accessing IMSA File Servers – Windows

Requires IMSA Student be on campus and connected to an Ethernet connection in their Res Hall Room or connected to the airimsa wireless network.

Accessing the Student (\\students.imsa.edu) or Video (\\video.imsa.edu) servers

Find the section that has instructions for your version of Windows

Windows 7:

  • Go to the start menu and select/click “Run”
    • Alternate: Press the Windows Key + “R”

  • In the text box next to open type:
    • \\students.imsa.edu (Student Server)
    • \\video.imsa.edu (Video Server)
    • Click OK

  • You will be prompted for your IMSA user name and password
    • Name: imsa\username (replace username with your IMSA account user name (excluding @imsa.edu)
    • Password: enter your IMSA account password
    • Click OK

  • You will be presented with a new window listing all of the available folders/directories available on the server. Double click to access the one you need. Your IMSA home directory will be name the same as your IMSA account user name (excluding @imsa.edu)

Windows 10

  • Use Cortana (Search the Web and Windows) and search for “run”, double click when found
    • Alternate: Press Windows Key + “R”

 

  • In the text box next to open type:
    • \\students.imsa.edu (Student Server)
    • \\video.imsa.edu (Video Server)
    • Click OK

 

 

  • You will be prompted for your IMSA user name and password
    • Name: imsa\username (replace username with your IMSA account user name (excluding @imsa.edu)
    • Password: enter your IMSA account password
    • Click OK

  • You will be presented with a new window listing all of the available folders/directories available on the server. Double click to access the one you need. Your IMSA home directory will be name the same as your IMSA account user name (excluding @imsa.edu)
