The suggestions IMSA students made to the question, “What is your favorite book?,” have resulted in an IRC display of a variety of good reads.
IRC Collections Development and Reference Librarian Connie James-Jenkin put a suggestion box on the reference desk for two weeks in November that asked students to submit the title of their favorite book. Some students suggested more than one book, and Connie got recommendations of approximately 50 books.
No restrictions were placed on the type of book that could be submitted as a favorite read, and the most recommended books were “To Kill a Mockingbird” and the “Hunger Games” books. “The students were free to recommend a fun read or something they found meaningful to them,” said Connie.
Jeannette Clark and Nancy Pavlik created a holiday themed display of the books that were recommended. The display is in the reference area of the IRC, and all the items are available for checkout.
