Humans of IMSA: Lucy Yuan (’16)

How excited are you for Clash?

“I’m really excited. I think it’s really cute this year, especially since 04 first got kind of upset, but then they were like, ‘We’ve realized the true meaning of Clash,’ and I thought that was really sweet. It’s really unique to IMSA ’cause it’s like no other schools can do this. It kind of reminds me of the Hogwarts House Cup… (laughing)”

So, because Clash is so special, what do you think it adds to the IMSA experience?

“I feel like it gives you a chance to bond with people that you normally wouldn’t [bond with]. It makes you feel like you’re part of a team, because it’s like, you can have wing pride… But I feel like hall pride is something that truly brings us together, because these are people you live with and they kind of become your family, and it really just brings you all closer… I think the teachers don’t really see how it’s what makes IMSA so completely different from another school. It’s like, you see these people working so hard and putting in so much effort outside of school and it just becomes part of your life here at IMSA.”
