The 7 Easy Steps of Sophomore Life

  1. Wake up.
    • Depending on what mods you have off, this may or may not be before noon.
  2. Reflect on your accomplishments and feel good about yourself!
    • Remember that you just aced the last quiz…if acing is an 80%.
    • Remember that you are in exceptionally advanced classes for a sophomore…but not for an IMSA sophomore.
  3. Get your first worksheet of the day and watch all of your genius classmates fly through it.
    • Complete the first question.
    • Feel proud of yourself for figuring out the first question.
    • Go on to the second question. Realize that it’s too hard and skip it, and then realize that question #3 is based off your answer to question #2.
    • Realize that the person next to you is already finished.
  4. Feel dumb.
    • Not that this is anything new for us sophomores.
  5. Cry.
    • We all know how to do this.
    • Depending on how many friends you have in the class, you may choose to weep discreetly.
  6. Feel down for the rest of the day.
    • Remember that you have three quizzes, a unit test, and a speaking assessment tomorrow.
    • Notice that your classmates aren’t even studying for the test, because they’re so smart that they don’t need to.
  7. Repeat.
    • Until summer vacation.
