With Halloween happenings all around, we had quite an eventful last week of October. From the costume contest to IN2’s Spooky Party, there was a wide range of activities and events taking place on campus this week to celebrate the Halloween season!

During midday on October 30th, the Annual Halloween Costume Contest was hosted. Many students and staff members took the opportunity to put on their craziest, scariest, and most creative costumes. As they paraded for the staff and students, they were judged for the categories of best costume, scariest costume, most original costume, and best group costumes. All of the students and staff members that participated had very unique costumes, but only a few of them could win the awards. Hence, after thorough contemplation, the winners were chosen, as listed below:

  • Best Group Costume: Scooby-Doo/Chelsea Soli, John Woods, Jay Reiter, Nallely Ramirez, Meghan Hendrix & Briella Henderson
  • Most Original: Solar System/Emma Darbro
  • Scariest Costume: Zombie Girl/Brenna Christoffel
  • Best Students: Iron Man Tony Stark/Yamil Barraza  & Wizard/Logan Gagnepain
  • Best Staff: Peter Pan/Julia Husen & Phyllis Chesnut

Later that day, IN2 hosted a Spooky Party for students, staff, and families from the IMSA community. Everyone got together to enjoy spooky food, games, trick or treating, an escape room, and an exciting movie. From offering a wide variety of food to having a unique and quite challenging escape room, many students appreciated the effort staff members and student volunteers put into decorating and setting up the various aspects of the party. Additionally, the only entrance fee was a Halloween costume or a scary face for the selfie station and thus, the turnout for the event was incredible. Many individuals really enjoyed their time there, one sharing that “Events like these really bond the IMSA community over something we all love: Halloween!” While Halloween season has unfortunately ended for this year, we have the holiday season to look forward to and can’t wait to see what is in stock for us in the future!
