Starbucks Hacks + New Fall Menu

Taking walking trips to the Starbucks on Orchard is a school-wide tradition that almost everyone has participated in at least once. Whether it’s to collect stars for free drinks or to pick up that iced tea you’ve been craving, it seems like Starbucks is the place to go! You might be getting crazy over Pumpkin Spice Lattes since fall has just started, but do you know what other food and drink items autumn brings out? To help everyone out, I have compiled a list of the new fall items, along with some secret drinks and hacks that will be sure to get everyone excited!

Maple Pecan Latte

The newest drink in Starbucks’ repertoire. This drink combines the flavors of maple, pecans, and brown sugar with a warm cup of espresso and milk. It tastes like the coffee you would imagine drinking while sitting in your one-dollar Target Halloween socks and an over-sized sweater while watching It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. The warm flavors don’t overpower the coffee, and you even get a surprise of fall-colored sugar sprinkles on top of the cloud-like foam topping.

Salted Caramel Mocha

This is for you Caramel Frappuccino lovers. As the temperatures start dropping, it’s always nice to have a familiar flavor to go to when you order a hot drink, and this is exactly what this mocha gives you. It pairs a toffee-nut flavor syrup with milky espresso to give you the perfect tummy-warming sip, every time.

Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte

Can’t stand the taste even when your drink is watered down by steamed milk? Well, Teavana® is introducing this new drink to the menu, and it is sure to stun all avid coffee-haters. It blends all of the flavors of Starbucks’ famous Chai Tea Latte with the same pumpkin spice flavors found in their famous Pumpkin Spice Latte…so definitely don’t miss out on this one!

Pumpkin Scone

Many of you are probably very excited for the return of the Pumpkin Scone, a pumpkin spiced dough dipped in white icing and topped with a drizzle of pumpkin icing. What’s not to like?

Pumpkin Cheesecake Bar

Starbucks describes it as “a triple layer treat… [with] a honey graham crust baked with pumpkin gingerbread bursting with candied ginger, pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg, topped with creamy Chicago-style cheesecake made with slow-cultured cream cheese and sour cream, finished with a swirl of lightly-spiced pumpkin cheesecake.” (It would probably take you longer to say that than it would to finish the bar.)

Iced Fox Sugar Cookie

A new woodlands creature that might be almost too cute to eat. If you haven’t yet seen it traveling around your friends’ Snapchat stories, be sure to grab one the next time you take a walk to Orchard. The Iced Fox Sugar Cookie has been a great addition to this year’s fall favorites and can make your aesthetic pictures of Starbucks’ drinks even more beautiful. Not only is it delicious with a buttery sugar cookie dough and a white-chocolate glazed frosting, it’s crazy cute too!

Now I’m sure you’re all excited for the new fall favorites, but that’s probably not what you came for. So to give you what you want, here’s some Starbucks secrets you’ll be dying to try…

Unknown to many, there are seasonal drinks that are served year round. If you’re ever feeling a Candy Cane Frappuccino or an Eggnog Latte, you can always ask the barista to whip one up for you, even if it’s in the middle of a scorching September.

However, if you’re looking for some new secret fall favorites, Starbucks has you covered. On their secret menu you can find a Halloween Eggnog Frappuccino, made with pumpkin spice and caramel syrups blended together with heavy whipping cream and the Frappuccino base. They also have an Apple Pie Frappuccino, which tastes exactly like the name says it does, plus some delectable cinnamon dolce and caramel syrup. The only drawback with the secret drinks is that if a location is out of a particular flavored syrup, they won’t be able to make you the drink. So just remember to have a backup drink order, and you’ll never be disappointed.

Also, don’t forget that if you have a free drink, order the Trenta size. It’s bigger than a Venti!  Even though it’s not listed on the menu, they’re always willing to hit you up with it. There have also been rumors of a “short” size, which is smaller than a tall, for anyone who only wants to sample a drink or doesn’t do well on too much coffee.

And lastly, if the new fall and secret drinks don’t sound appealing to you, don’t forget that the new Teavana® Shaken Iced Tea Infusions, including flavors such as Pineapple Black Tea, Peach Citrus White Tea and Strawberry Green Tea, will be available all year round. Happy sipping!
